What you need to know

SHORTER Open Enrollment

The enrollment period for health insurance to cover you during 2018 begins on November 1 and ends on December 15. This is significantly shorter than in prior years.

FEWER Carriers to Choose from

Insurance companies like Anthem BlueCross BlueShield, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare will no longer be offering plans in certain areas, so you may have fewer options when you shop for 2018 coverage.

The network of doctors and facilities available for in-network coverage may be different than in the past. Be sure to check the networks and prescription formularies of any health plans you’re considering before enrolling!

The Good News

You don’t have to go it alone!

Through VelaPoint, you have exclusive access to a free health and supplemental insurance shopping service, staffed by licensed insurance experts in all 50 states. Shop, compare, and enroll—all in one easy call.

Traditional health insurance isn’t the only option.

If you live in an area with limited health insurance options, find the premiums too expensive, or your doctor isn’t in-network, traditional health insurance isn’t your only option. Plans like short-term medical or limited medical offer benefits at much lower costs.

Insurance packages could mean big savings.

Insurance plans that are designed to work together could help you save on deductibles, prescriptions, and hospitalizations. A licensed agent can also help determine if you’re eligible for cost-share reductions and premium tax credits.
